The Man
Many would ask why post a personal webpage. Something about the exercise seems slightly narcissistic or overwhelmingly self-involved. Others might consider it to be too laborious or difficult to fill content. The trouble is, both are true. So who is Andrew Gillette and why did he go through all of this effort to create a website?
Reminiscent of a high school friend that use to sign every document as “the man, the myth, the legend,” Andrew realized that much of what makes any given moment particularly exceptional or memorable, are the differences and audacities of the occurrence. Growing up in a small town in the Midwest, then attending primary school at Hargrave Military Academy, Andrew experienced life in an exceptional form. From the stringent requirements of the Academy, he learned discipline. From his fight against childhood epilepsy, he learned humility and a tenacity for problem solving to the greater human good. Not to be contained by the normal ideals of society, he traveled the world in college, and has studied under the tutelage of greater men than he, both the social and physical sciences. Every experience paves way for a unique perspective; a perspective towards the ultimate question that most of the greatest thinkers of history have dared to examine: what is the ultimate answer to everything. Indeed all physical and social laws can be summarized into greater subsets of ethos, and quantified one way or another for their moral relevance and physical use. Every person has this ability, but few are blessed with the right circumstances to examine the world in pursuit of the ultimate question. Moving forward, Andrew humbly seeks to make this attempt. This website seeks to examine interests, science, and culture in a way that it has not previously been examined; with open reason and unprejudiced dialogue.
